The May issue of Taiwan Business TOPICS includes the annual Taiwan White Paper, an assessment of Taiwan’s business climate in both the macro level and sector by sector.
The paper summarizes AmCham's recommendations to the government and public on legislative, regulatory and enforcement issues that have a major impact on the quality of the business environment. Organizational Reform of the R.O.C. Government
Facing various global and local challenges, the Taiwanese government is determined to reinforce its governance capacity and make administrative operations more effective. Under the goal of building a streamlined, flexible and efficient government, a reorganization plan will be implemented on January 1, 2012. With the new central government structure, where the number of ministry-level organizations is reduced from the current 37 to 29, the efficiency and quality of government services are expected to be improved, and Taiwan’s competitiveness to be enhanced.
