Date: Friday, 26 August 2011 This seminar is on a first-come-first-serve basis, maximum 30 persons. The maximum number of registrants per company is 5. Taking pictures and videos is prohibited during the workshop.
If you are responsible for training and development, then you should consider what these two facts mean for your organization: (1) the center of global economy is gradually moving to Asia, with increasing opportunities and threats for multinational companies in Taiwan and (2) Taiwan’s declining birthrate, according to Reuters, is going to pose a serious talent short on the island within a decade.
The only way to supply the needed talent is to grow the people we already have, except that traditional training is gradually losing its appeal and effectiveness. The HRD staff is being challenged on all fronts: trainees are complaining that the training is “too theoretical and not practical” and the senior management wants to know how we are measuring the training’s link to employee productivity.
The purpose of this seminar is to discuss the challenges HRD staff in Taiwan’s multinationals face and share what other AmCham member companies are doing to overcome the challenges we face. The agenda is as following:
1. Corporate training: Consensus building
• Why we provide corporate training?
2. Macro- and micro-changes that have an impact on today’s training
