Magistrate His-Wei Chou (台北縣長周錫) sincerely invites members from the ECCT, AmCham and BCCT to visit Lujiao River Constructed Wetland (鹿角溪人工濕地) on Saturday, May 9, 2009 to understand the progress of wetland renovation in Taipei County and to relax from busy work.

Dr. Jane Goodall, a famous environmentalist, was also impressed by the sewage treatment of the Constructed wetland when she visited the Lujiao River Wetland on Nov. 25th, 2008. The wetland has changed the environment of the neighborhood and cleaned the wasted water from the community nearby. The schools around the area have also combined the local cultures with ecological training in the system. Taipei County is building an environment education center to combine wetland ecology with other conservation resources to create a center for a long-term promotion of sustainable environmental education, protection and research, trying everything to make a happier and healthier tomorrow.

The trip of Lujiao River Constructed Wetland will not only be guided by professional narrators but also be held in the form of garden party. Variety of activities like biking, making kites or little sky lanterns will be at your choice in this trip.

Activities include:

  1. Biking: bikes will be provided on site.
  2. Making kites: kite teachers are available.
  3. Making little sky lanterns: teachers are available.

* A buffet is offered from 15:20 to 17:00.
* NOTE: This event is on the first-come-first-serve basis since the quota for each chamber is 30 persons.

A bus transportation will be available for your convenience at the below locations.

Event Payment

* Non-members whose companies are also non-members of AmCham may attend a maximum of three AmCham events.   
  
Payment for Members

Event billing will be sent to members at the end of each month. Expense for any guests invited by an AmCham member will be billed to member's account directly.

Payment for Non-Members

Non-members who are neither guests nor staff of members must complete the credit card form and fax it back to AmCham at (02) 2718-8182 prior to registered event.

Registration Cancellation

Written cancellation must be received by AmCham 24 hours before the event, or else full price of the event will be charged to member's account.
