Date: Wednesday, 25 March 2009 There are as many as 37 ministries and councils under the Executive Yuan — far more than the average number (between 15 and 25) in other countries. There is an urgent need to integrate and merge these organizations to increase government flexibility and efficiency. President Ma Ying-jeou’s restructuring plans are expected to have an impact on business in Taiwan. To enhance flexibility and effectiveness through streamlining government bureaucracies, new agencies and ministries will be created and old ones merged or eliminated. Ma’s plan further aims to make government innovative, build better relationships with the corporate world and develop long-term economic benefits to promote Taiwan’s competitiveness. AmCham is honored to invite Dr. Yu-Hsieh Sung, Deputy Minister, Research, Development and Evaluation Commission, Executive Yuan, to address the insights of government’s restructuring plans on the following agenda:
About the Speaker(s)Dr. Sung Yu-Hsieh is currently the Deputy Minister at Research, Development and Evaluation Commission (RDEC), Executive Yuan. Before that, he served as Chief Secretary of Research, Development and Evaluation Commission (RDEC); Director of Department of Planning, RDEC; Deputy Director of Department of Supervision and Evaluation, RDEC; Section Chief, Department of Information Management, RDEC; Adjunct Associate Professor, Chung Yuan Christian University and Yuan Ze University. He graduated from National Chung-Hsing University, and earned MPP in University of Michigan, U.S.A., and PhD, Business Administration from National Chengchi University, Taiwan. 宋餘俠先生,現職為行政院研究發展考核委員會副主任委員。在此之前,曾擔任行政院研考會主任秘書、綜合計畫處處長、管制考核處副處長、資訊管理處高級分析師,以及中原大學與元智大學兼任副教授,擁有豐富經歷。他畢業於中興大學應用數學系,隨後於美國密西根大學取得公共政策碩士,並擁有政治大學企業管理博士學歷。

Event billing will be sent to members at the end of each month. Expense for any guests invited by an AmCham member will be billed to member's account directly.
Non-members who are neither guests nor staff of members must complete the credit card form and fax it back to AmCham at (02) 2718-8182 prior to registered event.
Written cancellation must be received by AmCham 24 hours before the event, or else full price of the event will be charged to member's account.
