The AmCham Holiday Ball was one of the most successful ever. The sold-out crowd of 360 filled the Grand Ballroom of the Grand Formosa Regent Hotel, where top New Orleans jazz singer Zorina London accompanied by the Taipei Jazz Express wowed the crowd, as did DJ Frankie. After the thirsty crowd drank up all the Jacob's Creek Sparkling Wine, Etchardt Torrontes, and Wyndham Estate Bin 888, it was time to hit the Chivas Regal Royal Salute and Wild Turkey bourbon-fueled hurricanes, which no doubt, put a dent in many a weekend plan. Kudos to the Grand Formosa Regent for getting the Cajun-themed menu down to a "t." The party was presided over by the talented Rick Monday and Master of Ceremonies and newly elected AmCham President for 2005 Andrew Houlberg, general manager of Gillette Taiwan Inc. The renewed energy and support from so many dedicated and generous members has given the Chamber great encouragement and inspiration to try to make next year's ball even bigger and better! The committee is already putting heads together to think of an even more exciting theme, even grander decorating schemes, and even wilder drink concoctions!

The next big event that AmCham has planned is Hsieh Nien Fan, the perfect opportunity to get together with Taiwan's top government officials to raise important lobbying issues and to rub elbows with the corporate elite. The date has been tentatively set for March 10, once again at the Grand Formosa Regent. Everyone interested in attending is strongly encouraged to start thinking about booking their tables at the earliest possible moment. AmCham would be grateful for any and all corporate sponsorship.
