Whenever high-ranking Taiwan officials at the level of President, Vice President, or Premier have the chance to meet representatives of AmCham, they invariably express their gratitude for all the work that goes into issuing the Taiwan White Paper, as the Chamber has done annually since 1996. They understand that the purpose of the document is not to criticize or find fault, but to offer practical and constructive suggestions – based on companies’ on-the-ground experience – on how Taiwan’s economic prosperity and social stability can be enhanced through improvements in the business climate.
