Promoting and Enhancing Fair Competition
The Fair Trade Law was enacted on February 4, 1991 and went into effect on the same date one year later. The aim of the law is to maintain trading order, protect consumer interests, ensure fair competition, promote economic stability and prosperity. It seeks to investigate and handle various activities that may impede competition, such as monopolies, mergers, concerted actions ( cartels), and other restraints on competition or unfair trade practices on the part of enterprises.
