C. J. Chen (Chen Chien-Jen) is a retired diplomat who has held such important government posts as Minister of Foreign Affairs, Director-General of the Government Information Office, member of the Legislative Yuan, and representative to the United States and the European Union.

Bonnie Glaser is a senior associate at the Center for Strategic & International Studies in Washington, D.C., and a consultant on East Asian affairs for various U.S. government agencies. Her research focuses on Chinese foreign and security policy.

Eric A. McVadon, Rear Admiral, U.S. Navy (Retired), is a consultant on East Asian security affairs and part-time director of Asia-Pacific Studies at the Institute for Foreign Policy Analysis. He was defense and naval attaché at the U.S. embassy in Beijing, 1990-1992.

C.V. Chen is managing partner and CEO of the Taipei law firm of Lee and Li, adjunct professor of law at National Chengchi University, and Chair of the Council of the Guanghua Law School of Zhejiang University in China.
