AmCham, in cooperation with the American Club, held its annual Fourth of July celebration - a day in advance, on Sunday July 3 - to mark the anniversary of American independence. The event was a family affair of sun and fun at the American Club swimming pool, followed by a sumptuous poolside buffet - featuring barbecued steak, ribs, chicken, hamburgers, and hot dogs, accompanied by a wide choice of salads and desserts.
As the approach of evening brought some cooler temperatures, an assortment of prizes was handed out to lucky raffle winners. AmCham President Tom Johnson delivered remarks of welcome to the participants, plus appreciation to the sponsors who had donated the prizes - American Express, Club Med, Far Eastern Plaza Hotel, and Swire Coca-Cola. For those attending, the atmosphere of camaraderie and community spirit was an excellent way to observe the national day.
