The TAIPEI 101 building, which is now opening in stages, has already catapulted its way into the front ranks of Taiwan tourist attractions. A survey conducted last year by the Taiwan Tourism Bureau revealed that TAIPEI 101 Mall was already the fourth most popular tourist attraction in Taiwan, ahead of both the National Palace Museum and Alishan. And that was just the mall; with the world's tallest building now opening to the public, Taipei boasts a high-tech global landmark that is likely to prove irresistible to tourists.
The Indoor Observatory on the 89th floor is now open to visitors in the afternoon, and will have longer hours beginning in March. By mid-summer, an Outdoor Observatory will open on the 91st floor, and later in the summer, about eight restaurants will open on the 85th to 88th floors. The exact mix of restaurants hasn't been decided, but it will likely include Chinese, Japanese, Western, and Fusion options.
