In the upcoming 2009 APEC Summit in Singapore, US President Obama is expected to focus on economic issues, trade and global security. As US begins to strengthen its economic cooperation with Asia, what options does President Obama have in re-asserting economic leadership in the region? And what are the implications/opportunities for Taiwan?
In addition, what is the current state of the U.S. trade agenda and how is it affecting U.S. standing in the Asia-Pacific region? What steps should President Obama take to jumpstart the trade agenda and bolster economic engagement with the region?
AmCham Taipei is honored to invite Tom Donohue, President and CEO of the US Chamber of Commerce, to share his insight to the U.S. leadership role in the Asia-Pacific regional trade landscape.
