Branding Taiwan:

Developing Untapped Creative Potential

SPEAKER

Dr. Johnny Chi-chen Chiang,

Minister, Government Information Office, ROC /

Cabinet Spokesman, the Executive Yuan

新聞局局長/行政院發言人 江啟臣

COST Member: NT$1,300 - Non-member: NT$1,900

The Government Information Office (GIO), the public relations arm of Taiwan’s central government, is the key agency mandated with disseminating information about Taiwan internationally. Constantly updating Taiwan’s image and reaching out to a changing audience, the GIO has long been actively involved in the promotion of Taiwan's cultural and creative industry, including publications, TV/Radio content, and motion picture.

AmCham is honored to invite Dr. Johnny Chi-chen Chiang, Minister of the GIO, to comment on the government’s strategic vision for positioning Taiwan, not only as a favored destination for inward foreign investment over the next decade but also as a welcoming environment for cultural and creative industry.

Dr. Chiang will discuss the major challenges for branding Taiwan amidst the rise of Asia as a key driver for global economic recovery. He will illustrate how the government, foreign investors, and the domestic business sector may find a common cause across their respective pursuits. By addressing recent initiatives to facilitate foreign investor participation in sectors of the cultural and creative industry, he will present to our members what is most likely to enhance exertion of Taiwan’s “soft power” throughout Asia and the world.
