Climate change is one of the most important challenges currently facing the world, and McKinsey is one of the leading institutions in the development of climate change related knowledge. The data that it has developed has been an important part of policy discussions at both the international and national levels.

AmCham is honored to invite Mr. Davis Lin, a partner from McKinsey's Taipei office, to discuss the following topics:

1. What will be the key business opportunities that emerge from climate change?

2. How has China taken advantage of it? What are the implications for Taiwan?

About the Speaker

Davis Lin is a Partner in the Taipei office of McKinsey & Company. Since he joined McKinsey in 2001, Davis has been focusing on serving clients in high tech, telecommunication and media industries in Taiwan, and throughout Greater China and East Asia. A few of his selected recent experiences include:

Consumer electronics and IT products

  • Formulated China growth strategy for one of global leaders in LED lighting, defining needed changes in the sales channel, marketing, and operations to achieve aggressive market share growth
  • Assessed clean-tech related opportunities, and defined a market entry strategy for smart meters for a leading Taiwanese ODM company

Telecom and media

  • Helped an IPTV operator in China develop its growth strategy and business plan, designed business and operation models, and refined collaboration models with other telecom and media players along the industry value chain
  • Formulated the IPTV strategy and cross platform content and application strategy for an integrated telecom operator in Greater China
