Action Learning is a powerful group process that leverages on the existing strengths of the people within the organization. Teams of 4 to 8 people learn through the power of questioning and reflection as they work on a real task in real time, under the guidance of an Action Learning Coach (ALC). Business Week named “Action Learning'” as the problem-solving tool of the year in 2005. It is becoming a highly preferred approach in Leadership Development and Organizational Development. Action Learning answers the questions - How can we enable teams to resolve real-time challenges and yet learn at the same time within the time constraints of businesses? How can we ensure we get ROI on people development – that training time is well spent with quality application of learning that can impact businesses? AGENDA About the Speaker
Michael Marquardt is a Professor of Human Resource Development and International Affairs at George Washington Mike has held a number of senior management, training and marketing positions with organizations such as Grolier, American Society for Training and Development, Association Management Inc., Overseas Education Fund, TradeTec, and U.S. Office of Personnel Management. Dr. Marquardt has introduced action learning to thousands of leaders and hundreds of organizations around the world since 1995, including Marriott, DuPont, Alcoa, Boeing, Caterpillar, United Nations Development Program, US Department of Agriculture, IBM, Nokia, Constellation, Samsung, Hong Kong Transit and Siemens as well as the government agencies in Singapore, Mauritius, Japan, Canada, Qatar, China, Korea, and Brazil. Dr. Marquardt's awards include the International Practitioner of the Year Award from the American Society for Training and Development. He presently serves as a Senior Advisor for the United Nations Staff College in the areas of policy, technology, and learning systems. Mike received his doctorate in Human Resource Development from George Washington University and his Masters and Bachelor Degrees from Maryknoll College. Dr. Marquardt has also done graduate work at Harvard, Columbia and the University of Virginia
To cancel without penalty, written cancellation must be received by AmCham 24 hours before the event, or else full price of the event will be charged. Expense for any guests invited by an AmCham member will be billed to the member's account directly. Membership is on an individual basis. Non-member can only attend at non-member price.
