This presentation includes basic introduction of union, relevant legal framework and recent development, legal boundaries of union acts and procedures for dispute resolution. The goal is to fortify the awareness of how to deal with union issues and identify possible risks.

About the Speakers

Seraphim Mar has around 20 years' experiences in labor law and litigation. She was the advisor to the CLA and has maintained a good communication with the labor authorities and active participation in law drafting, which enables her to provide practical legal advice and propose creative alternatives for problem-solving. In recent years she has been focusing on China-related practice and helping her Chinese, Taiwanese, US, and European clients to deal with labor issues in China, including the PRC Labor Contract Law.

Steve Lee is the Head of Human Resources, Wholesale Banking & Head of Employee Relations at Standard Chartered Bank Taiwan. Prior to his career in Standard Chartered, Steve was a Senior Manager at Motorola. He obtained his masters degree from National Chengchi University.


To cancel without penalty, written cancellation must be received by AmCham 24 hours before the event, or else full price of the event will be charged. Expense for any guests invited by an AmCham member will be billed to the member’s account directly. Membership is on an individual basis. Non-member can only attend at non-member price.

* Non-members whose companies are also non-members of AmCham may attend a maximum of three AmCham events.   
  
Payment for Members

Event billing will be sent to members at the end of each month. Expense for any guests invited by an AmCham member will be billed to member's account directly.

Non-members who are neither guests nor staff of members must complete the credit card form and fax it back to AmCham at (02) 2718-8182 prior to registered event.
