Extract Value from Consultants
How to Hire, Control, and Fire Them

SPEAKER Gordon Perchthold, Author; Partner of The RFP Company
COST Member: NT$1,300 - Non-member: NT$1,900

“Executives and managers may think they know how to manage consultants but this book reveals the reality. Those who read it will learn the why, how, and what they should demand from their consultants – future consultants watch ut!” Gary R. Bennett, EVP & Greater China CEO, New York Life International

Go ahead. Look in your local or online book store. There will be hundreds of books on how to be a consultant but no books written for executives or managers on how to effectively select and manage them. Consultants manage their clients every day but you, as an operational executive with day-to-day responsibilities only interact with consultants intermittently – so who do you really think has the advantage – the consultant of course.

This luncheon presentation will discuss experiences and case studies from “Extract Value From Consultants: How to Hire, Control, and Fire Them”. By applying the principles contained within the book any executive or manager of a company that spends USD50,000 or more on consultants could benefit in the thousands to millions of dollars from three sources:

  1. The increase in business benefits derived from the use of consultants through more effective selection, management and control of them;
  2. The reduction of consulting fees and expenses from not only being better equipped for negotiations but also through more effective structuring of consultant vs. company resources; and
  3. The transfer of knowledge and capabilities to their own company personnel by using them more effectively in projects involving consultants.

About the Speaker

Gordon Perchthold is a founding Partner of The RFP Company, an organisation based in Hong Kong which enables clients to make strategic choices, including the selection of management consultants. Previously, a Managing Partner of International Client Services at ABeam Consulting in Tokyo (which included delivering services in Taipei), and Partner and consultant within Deloitte Consulting offices in Seoul, Hong Kong, New York and Toronto (including a ‘sabbatical’ at Accenture), Gordon has been on both sides of the vendor-buyer equation and therefore can convey techniques to effectively select, manage, and disengage consultants for your benefit. Is it not time that you ‘even the odds’ in your consulting relationships by attending this presentation?
