AmCham IP&L Committee Luncheon
The establishment of IP Court on July 1, 2008, has initiated a new era of IP protection in Taiwan. How does it work? What's the difference between the general courts and the IP court? And, what kind of difficulties it has encountered? These are hot issues not only for legal practitioners but also for those who are running businesses in different fields in Taiwan. Judge Jack H. C. Wang will brief AmCham members based on his experiences in this particular field. About the Speaker(s)Judge Jack H. C. Wang is a working trial judge of the IP Court of Taiwan. He has been handled countless IP related cases since the year of 1997. Judge Wang held various posts such as Judge and Division-Chief Judge of Hsinchu District Court and Judge of Taipei District Court. He was also the mediation member of Copyright Examination Mediation Committee of Taiwan Intellectual Property Office. Judge Wang obtained his LL.B. and LL.M. from National Taiwan University. He also received his LL.M. in Information Technology and Privacy Law from Center for Information Technology and Privacy Law, John Marshall Law School, Chicago, U. S. A. He has also joined the Taiwan Executive Leadership Program at J. F. K School of Government of Harvard University.
