Outlook of Taiwan Tax Reform

The Taiwan government set up the Tax Reform Committee last year to facilitate tax reform in order to promote economic development, social justice, international competitiveness and a sustainable environment. And, as you will be aware that there have recently been some changes in the taxation area and thus AmCham is honored to invite Mr. Sush-Der Lee, Minister of Finance, and also the Deputy Convener of the Tax Reform Committee, to share his view of the tax reform including recent developments and future prospects. Minister Lee’s speech will focus on the present tax system and tax administration, the problems therein and the vision and achievement after the enhancement through tax reform.

About the Speaker(s)

Mr. Sush-Der Lee is the incumbent Minister of Finance. He previously served as the Secretary-General of Taipei City Government, from 2006 to 2008, and prior to that as Commissioner of the Department of Finance of Taipei City Government, from 1998 to 2006. He also served as the Director-General of Kaohsiung National Tax Administration, from 1996 to 1998, as the Deputy Director-General of the National Treasury Agency, from 1994 to 1996. Mr. Lee received a BBA in Banking & Insurance from Tamkang University, ROC and an MBA from Minnesota State University at Mankato, USA.

* Non-members whose companies are also non-members of AmCham may attend a maximum of three AmCham events.

Event billing will be sent to members at the end of each month. Expense for any guests invited by an AmCham member will be billed to member's account directly.
