AmCham Greater China Business & Technology Committee Luncheon
China's influence on the semiconductor industry—as a consumer and supplier—is massive and it impacts all related technology industries as well. To help companies strategically react to this influence, PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) recently published an in-depth look—“China’s Impact on the Semiconductor Industry: 2008 Update”—at the current status of the industry in China, providing both growth scenarios and business recommendations. PwC Taiwan’s Damian Gilhawley, who was a contributing writer for the above study, will present the key findings of the report. His talk will cover both the semiconductor market and industry in China, IC design in China, China's affect on the semiconductor value chain, the latest developments in the Greater China market, and recent revisions to corporate income tax and labor laws affecting semiconductor companies operating in China. This presentation will be of interest to C-suite executives—CEOs, CFOs, Chief Operating Officers, Chief Information Officers, Chief Human Resource Officers, Heads of R&D, Procurement Officers—working for semiconductor, electronics and software companies, in addition to venture capitalists and industry analysts. About the Speaker(s)Damian Gilhawley is a Senior Manager at PricewaterhouseCoopers Taiwan, a leading professional services firm, where he serves as a relationship manager for foreign multinational companies operating in Taiwan. He is also responsible for business development, including coordination of his firm's industry program activities.
