Outlook for the Taiwan Stock Market

This presentation looks at the impact of the global financial crisis on Taiwanese companies and investors in the Taiwan market. Differences and similarities with regional markets are examined to assess the outlook for foreign buying of Taiwanese equities. Financial sector policy and its impact on credit markets and the stock market is assessed. The outlook for each of the key sectors in the market will also be discussed.

About the Speaker(s)

Peter Sutton is Head of Research for CLSA Asia Pacific Markets in Taiwan. He joined CLSA in 1997 in Jakarta and after two years in each of Singapore and Hong Kong, he moved to Taipei in 2002. CLSA is a leading provider of equity brokerage, investment banking and asset management services. The company is part of the Credit Agricole Group.
