Press Release: Alan Eusden Re-Elected As Chairman for 2010 |
Alan T. Eusden, president of Corning Display Technologies Taiwan, was elected by acclamation by the AmCham Board of Governors to a second one-year term as chairman of the Chamber for 2010.
Eusden then nominated – and the Board approved – the other standing officers for the coming year: Corning Painter of Air Products as Standing Vice Chairman, George Chao of 3M as Vice Chairman, Li Shin Wang of Johnson & Johnson Medical as Treasurer, and Stephen Y. Tan of Baker & McKenzie as Secretary. He also expressed his appreciation to the two vice chairmen for 2009 for their strong support: Jeffery Nemeth, who is ending his Taiwan assignment to become head of the Ford operation in South Africa, and William Farrell, who has reached the end of his term limit for service on the Board.

The American Institute in Taiwan and
American Chamber of Commerce held a luxury American Ball on November 14, transporting passengers from New York to Newport, Rhode Island, Bermuda, and end in London.
380 guests danced to DJ Frankie’s energizing tunes. Raffle prizes from United Airlines and many prestigious resorts/hotels heightened the evening. Captains Chris Fay and Nick Winsor commanded the “crew” (dancing girls) with paramount leadership.

台北市美國商會新聞聲明
近日許多美國媒體報導華府US Chamber of Commerce對美國政府氣候變遷法案的立場,以及該團體部分會員退會的新聞;許多關心世界政經動態的國內媒體,亦引用報導上述新聞。
本商會注意到,部分國內媒體在翻譯US Chamber of Commerce時,以「美國商會」稱之;惟「美國商會」一詞,向來是國內媒體廣泛用以簡稱「台北市美國商會」(The American Chamber of Commerce in Taipei, or AmCham Taipei) 之用法。為避免廣大閱聽大眾誤認US Chamber of Commerce 與台北市美國商會為同一機構,茲建議各中文媒體,未來以「美國全國商會」,作為US Chamber of Commerce 之中文譯名,以避免造成混淆。
台北市美國商會並特此聲明:台北市美國商會為非營利、無黨派的商業組織,並向台北市政府登記為「社團法人台北市美國商會」。台北市美國商會與位於華府的美國全國商會(US Chamber of Commerce)並無從屬關係;美國全國商會(US Chamber of Commerce)之立場與發言,並不代表台北市美國商會之立場與發言。

Ministry of Economic Affairs (MOEA) hosted "2009 Taiwan Business Alliance Conference" on October 7 & 8 at the Taipei International Convention Center (TICC). The keynote speech was be delivered by Dr. Gee San, Deputy Minister, Council for Economic Planning and Development (行政院經濟建設委員會副主委單驥). AmCham Chairman Alan Eusden was invited as panelist to share insights in the Session: Taiwan-Your Ideal Partner in Asia.
